Take Ownership of a Channel
Currently it is not possible for a video admin to take ownership of a Channel. This is important as the channel may be orphaned if the owners leave an organisation with no means to edit the channel, modify its permissions or delete it.

I was able to add myself as an admin using Powershell so all hope isn't lost. I just looped the whole list since there were a number of these sites that had been created under a user who left. Just replace your tenant and email address of the admin below:
#Variables for processing
$AdminURL = "https://tenant-admin.sharepoint.com/"
#Connect to SharePoint Online
Connect-SPOService -url $AdminURL -credential (Get-Credential)
#Get All Site Collections
$Sites = Get-SPOSite -Limit ALL
#Loop through each site and add site collection admin
Foreach ($Site in $Sites)
Write-host "Adding Site Collection Admin for:"$Site.URL
Set-SPOUser -site $Site.Url -LoginName $AdminName -IsSiteCollectionAdmin $True

This must be fixed ASAP

Any update on this? Video Administrators need to have ability to take ownership of a channel.
Just discovered this. Ouch. Admins of the Video site have no access to Channel's made by staff who have now resigned.
